How to Balance Your Sacral Chakra

This article explores holistic methods to balance the sacral chakra.


1) CRYSTAL HEALING

For the sacral chakra, try citrine, sunstone, or carnelian.

2) ORANGE-COLOURED FOODS

Eating foods that are specifically orange in colour is recommended for the sacral chakra! Examples include carrots, oranges, sweet potatoes and orange peppers. If you can, buy organic for the higher soil quality.

3) ESSENTIAL OILS

For nurturing the sacral chakra, try citrus oils like bergamot, tangerine and orange oil.

4) MEDITATION AND VISUALISATION

To meditate on your sacral chakra, imagine each in-breath and out-breath as an orange light entering and exiting your body. See this color spreading throughout your entire body as you breathe. Imagine that as you inhale, this beautiful orange light is infusing your sacred sacral chakra with Power, passion and primal Creative energy.

5) REIKI

If you are initiated in reiki, practice self-healing at your sacral chakra daily for at least fifteen minutes, it can be extremely effective. If you aren´t a reiki practitioner, try to have at least one session with a reiki practitioner to experience the reception of the energy.

6) ALLOW YOURSELF TO FEEL YOUR FEELINGS: ANGER, SADNESS & VULNERABILITY

Express your emotions. Feelings are beautiful. Feelings are like water; flowing and healing. You heal what you can feel. We were given the full spectrum of emotions to experience in our human lives, so to honour these gifts by allowing yourself to feel your feelings - even the 'bad' ones, is to honor your Self. The Universe/God/Higher Power will hold you through your anger and your sadness. Life is here for you. You have a right to your feelings and when you express them, they pass much quicker. Feelings that are allowed to run their natural course, rather than suppression, always heal and transcend themselves. When you feel your emotions, you expose them to the light of Consciousness whose loving Power transforms them.


Journal out your feelings, talk to supportive friends. Sometimes we go through a challenging time and our friends are not as supportive as we hope. Turn to the ones that are there for you, and know that more supportive and better friends, who are more aligned with your Higher Destiny, will come in to fill the void. Therapists are also very helpful. The right therapist can be instrumental on your healing journey. Allow yourself to cry, scream, express rage or whatever 'negativity' you are feeling. Beating pillows is a safe way to release anger and hurt. Embrace and honor ALL your emotions, and you are honoring Divinity.

7) CHANTING MANTRA

Chant, write or sing the mantra, ‘VAM,’ associated with the sacral chakra!

8) POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS

The more you repeat an affirmation, the more it embeds into your subconscious mind and manifests into reality. Write or speak aloud your affirmations daily. If you can do them in the morning or just before bed, this is an ideal time. If not, any time during the day where you can have a few minutes undisturbed to have the space to really focus on your intentions is enough. If you can, you can even repeat them throughout the day:

'I am a UNIQUE, Divine, magnificent expression of Life.'

'Someone better than me = no results found.'

'I have my own unique skills and talents.'

'The Creativity of the Universe runs through me.'

'I allow myself to experience ALL of my emotions. I honour my feelings with respect and appreciation.'

'All my friends are loving, supportive and always there for me. I have the best loyal most understanding friends who have my back.'
