Transcending Limiting Beliefs

This article describes the 'healing limiting beliefs process' used in Chapter 5 of the book Positive Affirmations: Positive Mindset, Luck, Money, Receiving & Dreams!

Everybody has a different method for tackling their own limiting beliefs! The one I use is a slight alteration on the well-known process offered to the world by author Byron Katie:
Katie’s process is to first ask yourself (about your limiting belief), ‘is this absolutely true?’ The brain will then come up with a reason for why the thought or belief isn’t absolutely true, usually by finding at least one or two (sometimes more!) pieces of evidence against the negative belief. Once this part of the process has unearthed the reason(s) why your limiting belief isn’t absolutely true, you then make a heading underneath titled: ‘Better, new story’, and underneath this heading, form a new story (usually your brain will reorganize the thoughts you’ve just come up with from the answer to the first question and rearrange them to make an empowering new story, that you can tell yourself from this point on. By the time you finish, you should feel positive, empowered and confident!
The last part of the exercise, which in my opinion is the most powerful, is to ask yourself: ‘Who would I be without the thought?’ meaning the negative thought or belief from the start of the exercise. This method is so powerful, and forces the brain to focus on and think about a new, alternate, and equally true reality, where usually the complete opposite of the disempowering and negative belief reigns true! This method is so powerful that I actually tend to use it first and foremost now, without even bothering to use the first part (Is it absolutely true? + Better, new story). I have included the first part though, because when a belief is very deep, old or truly, deeply upsetting, I will use all three parts, just to really get down to the root of the issue.
You may need to repeat the limiting beliefs exercises 3-4 times on the same belief, to really let the subconscious process the changes and allow for the new, more empowering, truthful perspectives to sink in and take root! Often, just tackling a negative belief once in this way is enough to cause real change, because the shift in awareness is colossal. Everything starts in the mind, and as awareness shifts, you will see the corresponding ripples in reality.
Doing this work can be joyful, because doing this work sets you free. The alternative empowering truths that await you on the other side of every negative belief you challenge, are powerful and life-transforming! Tackling your limiting beliefs and transforming them into positive ones will heal you and increase the positive energy around you tenfold. You will free, light and joyous, because energy has shifted. I see every limiting belief that comes up in my life now as an opportunity. Every time a heavy, negative, old limiting belief comes up for clearing, I am excited (past the initial dismay!) and grateful, because it is an opportunity to transcend deeper layers and levels of lifelong baggage. Life is a journey of healing, discovery and transcendence.
If you have gone through your whole life believing a negative thought, then you will have accumulated a lifetime of evidence up until now to support your idea, because Life gives you back what you are giving out. However, when you know that YOU are the Power in your reality, and Life supports what you put out, then it is easier to motivate yourself to change your beliefs to new empowering ones. When you do so, you send out different vibrations to the Universe. The Universe will then bring you back different experiences, because you are on a different energy frequency. Change your beliefs, and the world around you changes. Fill your mind with positivity, and the old negativity will gradually pour out and fade away into nothing. You are the Power in your world, and you are always safe.
